Windsor and Eton

March 26, 2000

Windsor was our destination for a day away from the hustle and bustle of London. It was a lovely day and we headed straight for the castle. The gardens are just gorgeous as you can see. We walked up to the state apartments and started by looking at Queens Mary’s dollhouse. It was modelled on 1 to 12 scale of Windsor castle. We toured the rest of the apartments, and as you would imagine there were some lovely things and beautiful rooms. This is a view of the castle from the other side. It is known as the long walk. Can you guess why?

We then walked along to Eton. Unfortunately it closed so we weren’t allowed in, but that didn’t stop us perving over the fence. No sign of Prince William or Harry though. We walked back to Windsor and had our dinner in a very old tea rooms. It was all over too soon as most of our days out.
