A special
festival was held in Hyde Park to promote all things Japanese.
I had a really good day looking around the stalls, trying out
the food and learning a few things too. In the craft tent there
were Bonsai exhibitions and topiary which you could try for
yourself. People were given opportunity to try origami, calligraphy
and paper making too.
You could
try out many different Japanese sports, dancing and drumming.
A concert
showed us how it should be done - a group of people with handicaps
also performed and were amazing.

The highlight
of the day was the archery display at the end. There was a ceremony
at the beginning involving a great chief seen below in the second
photo.

The archers
rode on horse back and here you can see the targets. They are
dressed in different costumes representing eras and regions.
They were too fast to photograph when they were actually shooting.
Really cool.
