New Zealand v Ireland

Won 40 - 29

We had such a great weekend at the rugby. Very nerve racking though. At 21-7 I was about to cry and wanting to leave. I couldn't believe that Mitchell as a new coach had decided to leave many of the stars at home and we really needed someone right then. But we did it, I can't believe we actually came back and won it. Very cool. I didn't know at the time that Ireland have never beaten the All Blacks. Imagine how the Irish must of felt after letting a lead like that slip.

Gavin had organised the trip. We arranged to fly out on Friday night to make a weekend of it, but on the train to Gatwick we realised that we had left the rugby tickets at home and didn't have time to go back before our flight. Can you believe it? something always goes wrong when Gavin travels. He is jinxed. Oh and it wasn't just our tickets, it was tickets for everyone. Once we got to the airport I called an airline and managed to get a flight at 6.50 on Saturday morning for cheaper than our original flights at £70. There was one seat left. So everyone went off to Dublin and I went home on Friday night and watched TV. I had to get up at 4.30am the next morning but luckily the flight was from Heathrow so I could take the Heathrow express. Also Gavin took our bag so I just had me to organise.

I arrived at the hotel at 9am and had the pleasure of waking everyone up after their hard night out. In fact some had got home at 3.30, only an hour before I got up. We went to a pub to watch some football before the game. Then after the rugby we had a great night out at a pub in Temple bar. We stayed out until 3am, I was determined to do the 24 hours stint but didn't quite make it.

On Sunday we all split up and did our own thing, Sarah and I went to Trinity College and saw a book that was made in 800AD. ie very old. It was in amazing condition, written on calf hide and very decorative. It was a gospel book as most books were early on. Then we went to the old library. It was incredible. A very long hall with books from the floor to the ceiling about 20 feet high and the smell of old books was great to. I was thinking what someone will think of our books one day. So that was it, back to freezing London.
