Cricket World Cup 1999

New Zealand were certainly not favourites for this tournament, with South Africa, Australia and Pakistan planning so well. New Zealand were also unlucky enough to be drawn in the same pool as Australia. That turned out not to be a problem as New Zealand beat Australia in Cardiff and we were there to witness it. The Zimbabwe game in Leeds was initially rained out and was replayed the next day so we didn't get to see it.

New Zealand made it to the semi-finals but unfortunately could not beat Pakistan in the semi-finals. Australia ended up winning, beating Pakistan by 8 wickets.
