Chiswick and Bedford Preparatory school

My first permanent position came about due to the firing of a class teacher not long before the end of the school year.

As the name suggests this school is a private school with Mrs Morrow as the head teacher.

There were approx 160 students and from Year 4 it was girls only. This is because boys get accepted into higher education at 8 years old and only the failures were left behind in classes made up of mainly girls.

I had the Reception class of 18 students. They had Wednesday and Friday afternoons off, so on Wednesdays I taught Year 5 art and on Fridays I had the year one's for handwriting and chess. I also had a nearly full time helper called Nicola. We got on really well.

Thursday afternoons I went to after-school to sport with the Year 4, 5, and 6 girls.
